Project Highlight: Wedding Invitation Ornament

Married Christmas Ornament

I found this idea for an ornament/wedding gift floating around on Pinterest and decided to try it for myself. My neighbor, also named Becky, of over 16 years got married in July of 2011. She worked very hard putting together these lovely DIY wedding invitations from Michael's. For her birthday and early Christmas present, I decided to cut up her invitation (it was almost painful to do!!), curl the strips, and place them inside a plastic ornament bulb for a unique and personalized present. I added my own touch by adding strips of the invitation's blue envelope for extra color. I also happened to find a bird charm that matched the bird theme on the invitations.

Becky and David loved it! And I was elated to see it hanging on their first married Christmas tree a few weeks later!!
